Our bronze programme structure meets all Duke of Edinburgh requirements for practice and qualifier journeys in one week.
Already have your basic intro to mountaineering skills? Learn essential decision-making skills heading into the back-country or side-country. This is a foot-based course with transferrable skills for ski-touring, mountaineering and winter tramping.

Sponsored by the Rangitata Diversion Race, this programme provides transferrable personal, social and environmental skills applicable to student’s outside world and community.
By working by the motto “Challenge by Choice,” we aim to create a fun and safe environment where people can step out of their comfort zone, push themselves and learn about working with others through effective teamwork, communication, and leadership.
We train groups wanting to develop their teamwork and leadership skills. Whether this is a sports team, corporate or community group, we can adapt the activities to suit your needs.
Never climbed? Done a bit of indoor climbing/bouldering before? Can’t remember much about belaying since you did it at school camp? This course is for you. Learn the basics about belaying, top-roping, and have a bit of fun working on your climbing technique!
We have a highly skilled staff team and can teach instructor training for those looking to further their instructing career. It is generally best and more cost effective to organise as a group.
Perfect for Spring Challenge competitors, we spend day 1 orienteering and day 2 doing water-based training.
Keen to go further and climb higher? Learn the key skills to move on snow and in the mountains above the bush line in winter conditions! A pre-requisite for the Avalanche Awareness course.
A 2-day course aimed at teaching or improving bush navigation and bushcraft skills. Appropriate for recreational trampers, hunters or those training for adventure-race/ or rogaine style events.
