Peel Forest Holiday Program

Wednesday 15th April

Eco-adventure day (Students 8 years and above)                                                                                                                

Come learn about our awesome natural environment we have out at Peel Forest. Learn about some of the weed species & their effect on the environment, venture out to some of the old sawpits & hear about local history. Listen & discover about how to trap pests from local Department of Conservation expert – different techniques & set up some traps in locations up a few around the Eco Lodge

Bring along something you can cook on a fire for lunch e.g. pre-cooked sausages and bread, damper, tin foil and potato, marsh-mellows or you decide.

Minimum numbers: 8 students, Maximum: 30 students

Transport will be made available from Geraldine meeting at Kennedy park gate by Geraldine High school. The bus will leave at 8.30am and arrive back at 4pm daily. It will be an additional charge of $5 per day for transportation per student.

Thursday 16th April

Adventure Treasure Hunt (Students 8 years and above)                                                             

Come ready for an adventure team navigation quest – where after learning to read a map you will take these skills to compete against another team or two. Groups will be travelling through Peel forest park to various locations where they will have to complete mystery team challenges along the way to win some treats. Students will need to bring along good grippy footwear, some warm layers, waterproof jacket and enough water/food to keep them going for the day.

Minimum numbers: 8 students, Maximum: 30 students

Transport will be made available from Geraldine meeting at Kennedy park gate by Geraldine High school. The bus will leave at 8.30am and arrive back at 4pm daily. It will be an additional charge of $5 per day for transportation per student.

Friday 17th April

Climbing/Abseiling at Spur Road – Timaru (Students must be 10 years and above)                

Keen to have a go at climbing – this is your chance to learn how to belay and develop your confidence on the rock. We will also set up an abseil for you to try. For those of you that came last time – we will set up some new climbs for you to have a go at!

Minimum numbers: 9 students, Maximum 18 students

Transport for this day will leave and return from Geraldine at Kennedy Park gate by Geraldine High school. The bus will leave at 8.30am and arrive back at 4pm daily. Transport is included in the price.

Saturday 18th
