Located in South Canterbury, close to Geraldine, the Peel Forest Outdoor Centre is easy to reach from  SH1 between Ashburton & Timaru.

From the North/Ashburton

Head down State Highway 1 until you reach Tinwald. Turn right onto Maronan Rd, signs for Mayfield/Arundel/Holiday Park. After approximately 20km, continue straight onto Trevors Rd, signs for Arundel/Geraldine. Continuing straight, this road eventually becomes Hinds Arundel Rd just before a junction with Inland Scenic Route 72. At the junction with Inland Scenic Route 72, turn left following signs for Geraldine/Winchester. Immediately after crossing the Rangitata River, take a right onto Bridge St, signs for Rangitata Gorge. Continue to follow signs for the Rangitata Gorge for approximately 12km until reaching the Peel Forest village. We’re on the right, opposite the Peel Forest Community Hall. 

From the South/Timaru

Travel North on State Highway 1 until you reach Rangitata.  Turn left onto Highway 79 towards Geraldine. At the intersection of Inland Scenic Route 72, turn right, following signs for Peel Forest/Methven/Mt Hutt. In 5kms, turn left at the sign for Peel Forest/Rangitata Gorge and follow the road for 12km until you reach Peel Forest village. We’re on the right, opposite the Peel Forest Community Hall.
